More than Meets the Eye!
Lucy Felthouse started off this train of thought with her recent Rant on Erotic Authors being Multi Faceted People.
Erotic Writers are indeed much more than just the words they put on the page. Mothers, Lovers, Partners and More. They are ordinary people living less than ordinary lives. They embrace the erotic and give voices to the characters that run wild in their imaginations but they do it because they believe in the pursuit of pleasure, the passion of the moment and not switching off the lights and leaving things unresolved.
Coupled with the fact that a number of the net’s hottest Authors were featured in today’s Independent in an empowering statement of women embracing the world of erotica.
So.. Does writing about sex make them wild sex addict nymphomaniac out to hump anyone they set eyes upon? No. A Crime Novelist doesn’t want to kill every person they meet and it’s the same with Erotica. It’s all about fantasy/entertainment, and should be treated as such. The writers are not bad people because they are open to talking and writing about sex. We should all be a little more honest and open about it, the world would be a much better place if we all took some time out to enjoy sex a little more.
