Keeping Pace by Dee Carney
With the evocative tag of “One spark could burn her world down.” I was really looking forward to reading this one. Dee Carney writes amazing character based tales full of romance and passion that are both believable and enjoyable. The characters here aren’t perfect, they are real and that’s what will keep you reading.
The story of Regina and Josh is also hot, to the point of scorching and I love that about Dee, she brings the heat along with the heart and in Keeping Pace the mixture is just right making for a delicious read. Keeping and Conveying the chemistry between the two especially when you consider the differences and the back story is a feat of writing prowess and I give a lot of extra credit for that alone, it would have been so easy to fall into cliche and lose the reader but things are kept fresh and entertaining throughout and I loved that.
Wonderfully Written and Ultimately Satisfying this is one to curl up with!
Doll by Nichelle Gregory
Breaking Free and giving in completely to your desires, isn’t that a dream we have all had at some point?
BDSM certainly isn’t for everyone, completely submitting yourself to another to focus only on their pleasure and to take your own from the act of submission alone is something that I’m sure would be almost alien to some, but Nichelle does a wonderful job of bringing you into this most unique world as Rena takes the role of Sex Doll only allowed to say, ‘yes’ and ‘please’…
The action here is thick and fast the consumate thrill of denial, of wanting, needing, desiring until it almost tears you apart, to be totally at the mercy of another. That’s the dark delight we explore in Doll, the sex here is deeply sensual full of the toys that dominate the lifestyle.
Short but Sweet with a most wicked edge that is sure to tease and please if you enjoy the delights of seeing a naughty sex doll learn her lesson.
Irreconcilable Differences by Kiki Howell
Magic and tension blossom and explode when Aaron, a raw and untrained Sorcerer is hired to protect the Wizard Myleana as she tries to open a mystical and very stubborn box.
Aaron and Myleana both feel an attraction to each other that they try hard to deny as sorcerers and wizards aren’t meant to mix and definitely aren’t meant to have sex. Kiki Howell builds up the tension brilliantly between the two characters in fact, I got to a point where I just wanted to yell ‘oh, just give in and do it would you!’ at my screen.
The sex is scorching hot though I would have liked to see it introduced a little earlier as the build-up was brilliant but started to get a little repetitive as it drew towards the first sex scene that featured interaction between the main characters.
I did like the magical elements and think that the characters were developed really well. I would have liked more information about the world and setting that Myleana and Aaron existed in though as I found myself getting confused a time or two because I was expecting ye olde worlde settings and then cars and zips and jeans would be mentioned and I’d get confused and pulled out of the story a bit. A little more description in the beginning of the setting would have cleared that up for me I think.
There were a few typing errors to be found within the pages and the plot was somewhat predictable but I found the characters kept me interested until the end. I really wanted to know if they’d ever work out they were both completely in love with each other even though they couldn’t stop arguing.
In conclusion Irreconcilable Differences is filled with interesting and well described characters, the erotic tension builds beautifully and the sex scenes are smoking hot.
