Weekend at Wilderhope Manor by Lucy Felthouse

I’m a self confessed Feltian, Housey, Felthouser?? Whatever the term, I’m most definitely a fan of this mistress of the erotic word and always await eagerly her next release. The latest is an Erotic Murder Mystery for Hall-no-weenie meaning a ladies only affair set in the Grand Wilderhope Manor (but doesn’t feature a scene in the Banquetting Hall of which I was most dissapointed, there is not enough banquetting hall porn.. I’m going to start a campaign!) even with that minor fault though there is still a lot to love about this erotic romp.

The setting of this tale is truly sumptuous with four poster beds and oppulent rooms as the backdrop for the girls fun and games. The passion and humour Lucy injects into all her characters is a real delight and once of the reasons for the aforementioned fandom, you can just picture Jenny’s russet hair splayed on the bed and Stephanie’s dominance as she revels in the delights of her sweet playmate, they have such depth and scream sexuality along with the cries of terror, the chemistry of the two as they share their toe curling sensual kisses and have fun in the library is wonderful and makes for a really enchanting read.

The murder mystery is a bit of fun and keeps things flowing nicely, and the killer certainly gets what they deserve, I cannot reveal much as I don’t want to spoil the suprise but you are sure to enjoy it (and no, it’s not the Victorian looking Gentleman with the candestick in the library!) The scene in the Maze was particularly spooky for me as it’s one of my own fears and had the hairs up on the back of me neck up which was actually a pleasent change from all the red hot sex between the two.

The final halloween ball is a delight with the girls taking the part of the brides of dracula complete with bloodied fangs before slipping away for one more fumble before the weekend is through and no ghosts are going to get in the way when there is fuckin’ to do, Weekend at Wilderhope Manor was Short, Sweet and Spooky.. One for the Things that go bump and make you want to hump pile!

We Kill Dead Things by Sommer Marsden

Guest Review by the Delectable Victoria Blisse

Zombies and sex don’t really go together do they? It’s not a combination that instantly jumps to mind when you want to get into the mood for a little fun between the sheets is it?

Sommer Marsden seems to revel in this. The zombies are evil and gruesome and pretty damn terrifying in her book We Kill Dead Things but that only seems to make the sex all the sweeter. Okay, that last sentence could give you the wrong idea about this book, there is no zombie sex here, no body parts dropping off mid frantic fuck. No! The people making love are very much alive and so well written you can easily believe you could bump into any one of them on the street.

Poppy, Garrity, Noah and Cahill are brilliant characters. They are zombie killers not so much by choice but driven by the need to survive. They are joined together by friendship, loss and lust and it is a powerful bond. I do love hot, realistic sex that pulls you deep in to a story and Sommer gives her readers that in bucket loads but I am ecstatic when that passion ignites between characters I can really relate to. Sommer is a genius at this, little mundane things shine through the chaos and frenzy of the killing creepers (the group’s term for the living dead) and help you to get to know the people behind the cold dispatches of the walking dead.

I am easily creeped out. I don’t watch horror films and certainly don’t read horror books, no way! My imagination would scare me to death if I did. So why have I just read a gory (and it is, there are some erm, ripe descriptions of ickyness in there) tale of zombies attempting to take over the world? Good question. It is because I was pulled in by the humans in the story. At its heart We Kill Dead Things is a romance story, or the start of one (this is the beginning book of a series, yay!) with a great emotional and erotic depth. The relationships of these friends, lovers and prospective lovers spurs me on to read more and the killing and the monsters and the violence is a perfect background to it all. It doesn’t distract from the character interaction but in its own gruesome way enhances it.

I can’t wait to read No Guilt, the next book in this fascinating Zombie Exterminators series.

Taken By Surprise by Nichelle Gregory

I do so love to try something different, something that has had that little extra thought put into it, so was I taken by surprise by the latest masterwork from Nichelle Gregory?

I WAS!!! In the most delicious ways, with an excellent plot, superb characters and some of the best scene setting I’ve read in an erotic romance so far, I was truly Taken. This wasn’t my first Nichelle Gregory novel but it has been the best, the writing style has evolved and I think Nichelle has really taken on board past criticisms to deliver a book that is truly riveting.

The twists and turns are excellent and really give the book a breath-taking pace that just keeps you turning the pages wanting to know more, feel more, devour more. The heat levels on this one are blistering as both characters burn with a passion that defines them.

This is one for the burn-baby-burn pile, Scorchio!!!

Irreconcilable Differences by Kiki Howell

Magic and tension blossom and explode when Aaron, a raw and untrained Sorcerer is hired to protect the Wizard Myleana as she tries to open a mystical and very stubborn box.

Aaron and Myleana both feel an attraction to each other that they try hard to deny as sorcerers and wizards aren’t meant to mix and definitely aren’t meant to have sex. Kiki Howell builds up the tension brilliantly between the two characters in fact, I got to a point where I just wanted to yell ‘oh, just give in and do it would you!’ at my screen.

The sex is scorching hot though I would have liked to see it introduced a little earlier as the build-up was brilliant but started to get a little repetitive as it drew towards the first sex scene that featured interaction between the main characters.

I did like the magical elements and think that the characters were developed really well. I would have liked more information about the world and setting that Myleana and Aaron existed in though as I found myself getting confused a time or two because I was expecting ye olde worlde settings and then cars and zips and jeans would be mentioned and I’d get confused and pulled out of the story a bit. A little more description in the beginning of the setting would have cleared that up for me I think.

There were a few typing errors to be found within the pages and the plot was somewhat predictable but I found the characters kept me interested until the end. I really wanted to know if they’d ever work out they were both completely in love with each other even though they couldn’t stop arguing.

In conclusion Irreconcilable Differences is filled with interesting and well described characters, the erotic tension builds beautifully and the sex scenes are smoking hot.
